Add an income source

In short

On Income, add your expected pay amount and frequency. Monthly sources use a pay day; other cadences use a next deposit date. These support planning, not confirmation of a bank deposit.

Before you start

Income tracking is available on Pro and Family. Your role and bill visibility can limit access to household-wide financial features. A viewer cannot add an income source.

Add the source

  1. Open Income and choose Add source.
  2. Enter the name, amount, currency and frequency. For Monthly, set Pay day (day of month); for other cadences, set Next deposit date. Choose the applicable member when offered.
  3. Save the source and check its amount, date and frequency in the list.
  4. On Overview, review Monthly income and the available-after-commitments estimate.

Multiple sources

Monthly-equivalent income combines active sources using their cadence, for example weekly amounts multiplied by 52/12 and yearly amounts divided by 12. Upcoming dates support the schedule; estimates do not prove money arrived.

Household splits

Income does not automatically create income-proportional bill splits. To use that approach, calculate your chosen percentages and enter them manually in the bill’s split editor.
