Import purchases from a statement
On Spending, upload a PDF, screenshots or CSV, or paste CSV text. Review the columns, dates and each transaction before adding it to your ledger.
Before you start
Statement import is available to eligible Pro and Family households when enabled. A viewer cannot add records. Save an Excel statement as CSV for this flow; Settings record import supports different formats.
Prepare the statement
- Select Import statement on Spending or Statements, or the statement-import option in Settings → Data & export.
- On Upload, add a PDF, screenshots or CSV, or paste CSV text. Check the optional saved account label and last digits before continuing.
- On Columns, check the date, description and amount mapping. Saved recognized columns may be reused; use Change columns if they are wrong.
- On Dates, review the date range and counts of included, excluded and future rows. Choose Since last logged, Last 30 days, This month, Everything or a custom range as needed.
- Select Review for the readable rows to open the statement review page.
Review possible matches
A Possible matches row may already be in your ledger. Use Link it to attach evidence without adding another expense, Add separately only for a different purchase, or Later to leave the decision open. Review the suggested match before using Link all.
Add new purchases
For each New row, review the name and category, then choose Add or Exclude. You can select multiple new rows and choose Add selected. An exact existing match found during Add links instead of creating a duplicate. Use the available Undo or edit controls to correct decisions, and check the result in Spending.
Date defaults and recovery
The initial range normally starts after your last logged expense. If no rows fit that catch-up range, it can fall back to the available statement span. Inspect From and To rather than assuming the preset excludes earlier rows. If a column or date is wrong, go back and correct it before approval.
