Bell icon (top-right) → notifications inbox. Filter All/Unread. Click an item's action button to act without leaving the inbox.
Items are type-coded: overdue, due soon, paid confirmations from other members, budget thresholds, and price increases — a fixed bill whose latest payment jumped 10%+ over its recent average. The price-increase article covers what to do about those.
The Mark all read button at the bottom clears every unread dot immediately (optimistic update), then writes to the server. Per-user — your "read" state doesn't affect other household members.
