Choose which bills email you, and how many days before.
In short
Edit any bill → toggle Email reminder ON → pick lead time (3 days default). Reminders fire daily around 8am household time, only for opted-in bills.
Why opt-in per bill
HomeWeal is a private ledger, not a nag app. We don't auto-enable reminders for new users. You opt in for the specific bills that matter (rent, taxes, quarterly estimated). For everything else, the dashboard tells you everything you need on a daily check-in.
If you find yourself wanting reminders for everything, that's a sign autopay would serve you better. Reminders are for things that can't autopay (rent, contractors, quarterly tax estimates).
Configuration
Settings → Reminders → choose Resend as the provider and enter your API key (or use the bundled key if you're on a paid plan).
Settings → Profile → set your email address.
Edit a bill → Reminder → ON → pick lead time.
Prefer push?
Web push is a second channel for the same bill-due and overdue alerts — nothing lands in your inbox. Enable it under Settings → Notifications; it respects the same per-bill toggles. See the push notifications article.
