Confirm an autopay payment

In short

Autopay describes a provider’s scheduled charge. HomeWeal waits for you to confirm money actually posted; it does not automatically mark the bill paid.

Before you start

Check the charge at your bank or provider first. A viewer cannot confirm a payment. The posting window and confirmation controls depend on the selected bill period.

Record a posted charge

  1. Open the autopay bill from Bills or Overview.
  2. During the posting window, Autopay pending means the charge is awaiting posting. If it has already posted, use Confirm early in the drawer.
  3. When confirmation is needed, select Confirm charge in the drawer (it names the month). For a fixed amount this records what is still owed for that month, dated today, in one tap. A bill whose amount varies, or a household with more than one member, opens the payment form instead so you can enter the amount or choose who paid.
  4. If the charge was a different amount, select Different amount? under Confirm charge to open the payment form for that month instead. For an earlier month, open History and select Mark as received on that month. Check Counts toward, actual amount, Paid date and, if shown, Paid by in the payment form.
  5. Save the payment, then open History and check the intended billing month.

If the charge has not posted

Do not confirm a payment just because the scheduled date passed. Inspect the provider’s payment status and follow up there if necessary. The initial posting window is distinct from an ordinary overdue manual bill; HomeWeal does not make the charge or prove it cleared.
